About Cherise Williams
Cherise Williams

I am a registered nurse with nine years of diverse experience, including seven years in a high-paced emergency room setting. I have worked across Med-Surg, NICU, and emergency care, gaining expertise in treating patients with varying levels of acuity. My role in the emergency room exposed me to a wide range of critical care cases, deepening my understanding and commitment to supporting my patients’ needs.

Currently, I’m pursuing my nurse practitioner degree, with a focus on advancing my ability to provide comprehensive care to the community.

I started writing as a teenager. Being a nurse allowed me to see first-hand many things people experience in life, and in doing so, I’m able to capture those experiences in my writing. I am excited to see where my writing journey takes me.

Hearts racing
Thumping in my chest
Do I comply with every request?
Or do I stand tall and put this all to rest?
Decisions, decisions you don’t make it easy
And if I don’t agree, I’m thrown away and treated greasy
I can’t believe you’re giving me so many ultimatums to fit into your perfect mold
I know that this so wrong, and I can’t believe you have this type of hold
Damn, I’m human, how can you expect perfection?
It’s like I must walk on eggshells and honestly, we are losing our connection
Time will tell on the right thing to decide
Until then, my heart thumps in my chest,
while you wallow in pride.
